AFTERCARE &
SUPPORT
Long Term Support

Once you’ve decided to undergo surgery, you are well on your way to becoming a healthier you. But surgery is not the magic bullet… long term success requires a commitment to lifestyle changes including diet, exercise, nutritional supplements, regular visits with your surgeon and healthcare staff and a loyal support network. And we’ll be with you every step of the way.
Follow-Up Visits
Following individualized advice from your surgeon, nurse and dietitian will enhance your outcome. It is important to keep regular appointments so they can carefully track your progress and promptly report any unusual symptoms. Regular visits with your surgeon and other healthcare professionals will be important in maintaining your overall health. We’ll work diligently to develop a schedule that’s convenient for you.
Support Groups
Life after surgery will be completely different, and to be successful you must change the way you think about food. What better way than to meet regularly with a group of people taking the same journey as you? We encourage you to attend any of our support groups, each designed to help you maximize the outcome of your surgery.
The New Heights Weight Loss Support Groups give you the
opportunity to meet with clients at various stages in their pre- and
post-op journey. Whether you are working your way through supervised
diet and weight loss or are 3 years post surgery, you will benefit
from the camaraderie of our support groups.
Topics vary month to month but include helping to cope with eating
issues, emotional support, exercise training, protein supplements,
vitamin supplements, guest speakers, clothing exchange, and many
more that will be helpful in your weight loss journey.
Some months, our physicians participate and there are months where
we take field trips for food shopping whether at a grocery store at
a farmer's market, the New Heights Weight Loss team is committed to
your success. Support groups are scheduled to meet at 6 PM on the
first Tuesday of every month.
